We get so many questions about ITIPs and wanted to jump in with a quick fact vs myth for all my KABAES wanting to grab this luxury look for the new year! • • Fact: This method is designed for clients with full to medium density hair. This method is NOT designed for clients with thin to fine hair or those experiencing excessive hair loss or shedding. Why? ITIPs need a healthy and full head of hair to support this style as the microbeads are attached to individual strands of hair. Fragile and thin hair won’t support. Also, for coverage purposes, we need great coverage to cover the 100-150+ individual ITIPs we placed in the clients head. For thin and fine hair we recommend the single weft method. This is a beautiful alternative that is designed for those clients! • • Myth: ITIPs will take your hair out! To clarify... any extension method can take your hair out if not properly installed and maintained. ITIPs is NOT a death sentence for your hair and actually when installed and cared for by the Kerri Alston Hair team is a healthy extension method. The ability to have access to your scalp through the individually placed microbeads allows us to still care for and treat your natural hair. • • Fact: ITIPs are the most flexible and versatile install method amongst the 3 methods due to the fact that we can place the ITIPs throughout the head in a customizable fashion. This way clients who want maximize styling like 2 ponytails on the side, high-lows, etc can achieve this. • • Myth: ITIP microbeads get moved up to the scalp at the client’s 6 week refresh appointment just like the double weft and single weft method. ITIPs are not pushed up at maintenance appointments. Instead, ITIPs grow out like braids and must be removed and reinstalled at the 3 month mark! • • Fact: Clients can swim, workout, wash, condition and style their ITIPs just as they would their normal hair. ITIPs is an extension of your natural hair.. so treat them with the same love, attention and cate you do your hair now. 💋 • •
